YOUR RIGHT TO UNIONIZE

The vote on H.R. S.1041 -
" The Employee Free Choice Act"

The US Senate voted June 26, 2007 on S. 1041, "The Employee Free Choice Act."
"A bill to amend the National Labor Relations Act to establish an efficient system to enable employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to provide for mandatory injunctions for unfair labor practices during organizing efforts, and for other purposes."

The Bill failed to pass the Senate by 9 votes.  Of those Senators voting, 100% of Democrats supported, and 98% of Republicans opposed.

American Rights At Work has a breakdown of how your Senators voted:

This Bill [H.R. 800] passed in the House of Representatives in March 2007.

Hopefully, this issue will continue to be discussed in Congress.  Thank you to all the Guild members and other artists who contacted your Senators and urged them to vote for this legislation.
