JOBline News is compiled and published weekly by the New York Chapter of the Graphic Artists Guild. It is intended to inform subscribers of available jobs and potential clients. We post jobs from across the country; quantities and locales vary weekly. Postings run for a period of two weeks and if space allows, JOBline News also lists agencies, business services, calls to entry, exhibits, Chapter events, and seminars. The Graphic Artists Guild does not act as an agent between artist and client. It is the subscriber's responsibility to handle all contact, negotiation, and agreements with potential clients. The Graphic Artists Guild is adamantly opposed to all WORK-FOR-HIRE (WFH) contracts. JOBline News tries its best to screen out WFH jobs. As further protection, we urge subscribers to discuss these terms before committing to a job. If you would like to learn more about WFH, we suggest reading the Graphic Artists Guild Handbook of Pricing & Ethical Guidelines, 10th Edition. Please write or email to let us know of any successes you have through JOBline News, or any serious problems. We request that you do not call the office, as staff time is very limited. In order to protect the value of this publication do not disseminate the information contained within it to non-members. Giving out this information harms the growth of this valuable Guild Service. The Graphic Artists Guild promotes and protects the economic interests of its members. It is committed to improving conditions for all creators of graphic art and raising standards for the entire industry. The Guild is a union that embraces creators at all levels of skill and expertise who create graphic art intended for presentation as originals or reproductions. |
