GRASSROOTS ACTIVISM KEEPS GUILD CONFERENCE GOING!

Activists in Chicago have taken on the project of continuing the first Guild conference in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Because of the state of emergency in New York, home of the Guild's national office, the conference portion of the national convention had been tentatively cancelled.

Members in the Chicago area decided that the show must go on.

The event has been scaled back slightly from the original one and a half day schedule to one full, busy day on Saturday, November 10th. To encourage artists to take the trip out, we've also significantly lowered the price -- $60 for the entire day: all workshops, dinner at 6:30 pm and a blues party beginning at 8:00 pm

Workshops will go on from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, and include The Warrior Queen's Guide to Contracts, Financial Planning and New Guild Benefits, Marketing and Self Promotion, the Children's Book Market and more.

If you wish to spend the weekend, rooms are available for $99 double ($50 per person). You may have the roommate of your choice (spouse, non member, non participant) or we will assign one for you. Non member guests are welcome to participate at the member rate.

To register:

Contact the national office reserve your space: services@gag.org, subject "conference registration" Include:

1) contact info -- name, address, phone

2) whether or not you want a room, for what night(s) and your roommate request

3) specify whether you will paying by check or credit card, or call (212)791-3400

If you've already registered and paid the higher rate for the conference, you will receive your rebate after Nov. 10th. Please let us know whether you plan to attend. Thank you for your patience.
